MY MY POLE WORLD HAS CHANGED A BIT SINCE MY LAST POST!!
Well I finished my classes at Studios in the Exchange in APRIL 2010!! Officially starting my pole anniversary to April.22.2010 cause that was my first class, but I had interest in pole months before! I had 5 one hour per week Pole Level 1 classes. I started off with my friend Erica trying the classes with me but she got a job out of town so she moved away after 3 classes :( I was bummed to go at it alone, but I was really loving it and didn't want to stop.
Plus I'm the one who convinced her to come with me so I had to stick it out. How could I not? I was ADDICTED !! Since I first saw videos, went to the strip club and got interested in trying it. Waited about a month till the classes actually started up from the time I got the guts to email and ask about it!!!
I always joked to people I was going to put a pole in my grandmas basement. (I am living at my grandma's currently!!) I was always curious to try it, it was sexy and I could tell it would be a KILLER strength builder!! I looked up poles a while back and was thinking of purchasing a lil minx. But then realized my ceiling down here are too short. I think lil minx requires 8 ft.
My basement ceiling is about 7'2 approximately. I'm thinking if i take out a tile or just jam my new xpert x pole in when I get it. Worst comes to worse putting it in the spare room upstairs. Its just I don't have a lap top or tv/dvd player in the spare room to watch videos. Also it's carpet upstairs, down here is laminate. I'm hoping I can pole down here a while till I need the extra height when I'm ready and put the pole upstairs. Hopefully having at least a lap top by that time to take dvd and videos upstairs.
So I finished my classes at Studios at the end of May. I started with Vanessa June.4th.2010. I found her while looking for x poles online. After my first few classes at Studios I knew I wanted a pole 100% and this was something I was going to stick with and not going to be a waste of money!! Studios poles were made of stainless steel and clear coated. I didn't know that till the second last class. I always read online when searching for poles Chrome vs Titanium Gold because I was interested in getting an xpole. I just figured silver=chrome. Not so, they were SS and that is a major reason why I did not want to continue at Studios.
I am a naturally sweaty person. I've been called "CLAM HANDS" by most of my close friends. I don't know its like I have a nervous habit, I'm just always hot? My hands are clammy as I type! Anyways at Studios I was always wiping my pole, WAY more then any other lady. I figured as much as I started pole since this has always been a problem for me. It wasn't until the first hot almost summer day that I was so frustrated. I couldn't do anything, I slipped off the pole so much I didn't even want to continue in class! SO annoying wiping EVERY SECOND!!
So back to the story, I met Vanessa while searching for an X pole in Winnipeg. I thought I would give Kijiji a shot cause just HEY MAYBE someone has one!! Kijiji is a local website where you can buy/sell, Craig list style. I found out she was an official x pole distributor in my city. So I contacted her and she told me she also teaches classes and would be starting in June at a studio on the same street as my gym. Also she was teaching on 50 and 45 TG poles that I wanted to try. Much better for my clammy hands plus she tells me they are the best for our climate in Winnipeg. I have been taking private lessons with her for about 4 visits so far.
Tomorrow I have my 5th lesson and I get my pole. She had it shipped in already and Im so excited!!!! I'm getting a 45 New X pert X-Pole Titanium gold!!!! :D:D:D Plus my Jamilla art of pole dvds came in the mail a few days ago. IM JUST BURSTING WITH POLE HAPPINESS!!
In conclusion to this lovely pole blog I just want to announce how FREAKING EXCITED I am for tomorrow! Brazil vs Portugal (Vanessa is from Brazil, it was funny we both were wearing our team jerseys at my class yesterday, one of us is going to be very upset at tomorrows class) Hopefully PORTUGAL wins and I'll be happy and have a pole. Even if they lose I'll still be smiling cause I'll have MY OWN POLE! I can not gush enough over the excitement I am feeling!
